Sundby Naturhus
Greenhouse home for a family with children in Vallentuna, north of Stockholm. A two storey villa in load-bearing timber is placed in a greenhouse and thereby moved to a climate corresponding to northern Italy. The unheated greenhouse in tempered single glass protects the house from wind, rain and UV radiation and creates generous conservatories with fantastic qualities. The inner facade consists of a simple, horizontal oiled panel with sparse "trellis sections" for facade plants. A lush timber cube under glass.
The greenhouse enables a closed local cycle with plant beds that purify and absorb the nutrients in the wastewater and convert it into fruit and vegetables. The house does not require a connection to the communal sewer system.
This is a Greenhouse Living project.
